The Organising committee will include specialist doctors in Sports Medicine, belonging to the Sports Offi ce of the University of Malaga, as well as the backup of the Sports Medicine School of the same University. We will guarantee medical assistance in all the venues, and a telephone number that will put all the participants in contact with the responsible of the medical area. This number will be available 24 hours for everyone who may need medical attention.
A first aid kid and a medical team will be located in every competition area in order to take care of all the sport injuries and emergencies. In addition, an attention spot will be located in the organising committee hotel so the doctors can solve all the doubts and request that may appear during the Championship such as vaccines, sonograms, dressing… that will be attended with previous appointment.
In Malaga we have a huge number of hospitals and health centres. In Torremolinos we can fi nd the Matitimo Hospital at 5 minutes from the beach were the Championship will be held. In this hospital, we can fi nd several surgery areas and physiotherapy and radiology areas. This hospital depends upon the University Hospital Virgen de la Victoria, located in Malaga, 20 minutes away from Torremolinos. This hospital has heliport and a bigger assistance network of specialties. Closer to the place of the Championship we can fi nd health centres like La Carihuela and San Miguel health care, opened from 08.00h to 20.00h Monday to Friday.
We also have many private centres that work together with national and international insurance companies for example, Santa Elena Clinic (5 minutes away from the venues) or Vithas Xanit International Hospital (Placed in Benalmádena, 15 minutes away from Torremolinos). It is very easy to have access to pharmacies, dentists, physiotherapy centres and any other speciality centres in private clinics.
We will have a private ambulance service hired by the organisation in order to guarantee the movement to the hospitals in case of an emergency. We can also rely on the 112 emergency service that is part of the public Health Service of Andalusia that also counts with emergency vehicles and helicopters.
